Cornucopia of drugs and weapons nabbed ;ast Friday night during Brooklyn Park police stop

On April 23, 2021 at approximately 10:00 p.m. Northern District officers conducted a traffic stop of a blue Dodge Caravan in the 700 block of Church Street in Brooklyn Park. The vehicle proceeded to the area of the Mariban Court and Herndon Court in Brooklyn. As the vehicle came to a stop, the front seat passenger fled, dropping items as he ran from the location of the traffic stop. Officers were able to apprehend the passenger and recover the following items:

  • Polymer 80 handgun loaded with 25 rounds of ammunition
  • Baretta PX4 Storm handgun loaded with 13 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition
  • White ziplock bag containing 8.9 grams of suspected cocaine
  • Black and yellow bag containing 2 green, 2 blue, 2 pink, 1 yellow pill of various shapes, suspected MDMA
  • Black and yellow bag containing suspected MDMA, .87 grams
  • 5 ziplock bags containing CDS marijuana, 33.40 grams
  • Large bag containing 6 smaller bags containing CDS marijuana, 79.4 grams
  • 2 digital scales with residue

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of the following:

  • Black container containing a tied off plastic bag containing 5.68 grams of suspected heroin
  • 23.48 grams of an unknown white powdery substance

The driver and passenger, 41-year-old Calvin Vincent Brown of Baltimore and 43-year-old Phillip Antonio Jones, also of Baltimore, were arrested and charged.
